Tennessee quarterback #11 Joshua Dobbs receives the Most Valuable Player award after the Vols' 38-24 win over Nebraska at the 2016 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Dec. 30 in Nashville, Tennessee.

With the 135th selection in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs.

In Dobbs, the Steelers are getting a future leader of the organization and potentially the long-term replacement for Ben Roethlisberger. There isn’t a prospect in the 2017 draft class with higher character or more integrity than Dobbs. The Steelers organization is first-class and Dobbs will fit in perfectly.

On the field, Dobbs has the potential to exceed expectations and be a successful replacement to Roethlisberger. At Tennessee, Dobbs had to do it all at times. In Pittsburgh, that won’t be the case. The Steelers have playmakers at each level of the offense, which will allow Dobbs to come in and play within his skill set. Pittsburgh is known for its stifling defense and with the recent improvements, Dobbs won’t have a lot of pressure placed on him because of the cushion he’ll receive from the defense. The Steelers have all the tools needed for Dobbs to be successful.

Steelers fans should be extremely excited about the addition of Dobbs. He leads by example, works hard and possesses an underrated skill set. With Dobbs being afforded to sit back and learn from a potential Hall of Fame quarterback, don’t be surprised if the former Tennessee quarterback has a successful NFL career.
