At the weekly Monday press conference Tennessee football head Coach Jeremy Pruitt talked about how he and his team were ready to go after the team’s second bye week of the season.

He also discussed this week’s opponent, the Missouri Tigers, and how it will be to play former Heisman candidate Kelly Bryant.

Pruitt said that the team is ready to go after yet another bye week.

“Our guys are excited to get back into game week, and so am I,” Pruitt said.

Pruitt emphasized the fact that Missouri is a good football team, especially at home. The Tigers have a 5-1 record at home this season. He talked about how the Vols will have to play their best game.

“We have yet to play our best game,” Pruitt said. “We’ve yet to, in my opinion, [play] a complete game.”

Pruitt talked about how Nigel Warrior and Daniel Bituli, who lead the Vols in tackles for the season, have had solid seasons. He said that they are both playing phenomenal football and that he needs them to play their best against Mizzou this weekend.

“We still as a team have a lot to prove,” Pruitt said. “We look forward to the opportunity to try to be at our best.”

Pruitt also talked about how well the team needs to play in general to get the win against Mizzou. With a win this weekend, the Vols could get an automatic bowl bid. So this is a very important game to the team’s season.

Tennessee (5-5) will play at SEC foe Missouri (5-5) on Nov. 23 in Columbia. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. EST, and the game will be aired on SECN.
