As a passionate makeup hoarder and beauty enthusiast, I’m here to guide you through various beauty techniques and tips. Today, we’ll focus on a quick and effortless 5-minute makeup look that will leave you looking fresh and awake. A proper skincare routine is the foundation of any makeup look, and it’s crucial to choose products that are gentle and safe for extremely sensitive skin. by incorporating effective skincare into your daily routine, you’ll enhance the natural beauty of your skin an create an ideal canvas for makeup applications. Let’s get started.

Here is my before picture in all its glory:

Mhmm, check out those dark circles.

            1. BB Cream

This is one of those things that if you feel like you don’t need it, then skip it. I personally like having a even base for my face so I go along with this step. A BB cream, is essentially a step up from tinted moisturizer but not as heavy as foundation and does not provide as much coverage. A good BB Cream is the Maybelline Dream PURE BB Cream (has a blue cap and writing) for oilier skin and the Dream FRESH BB Cream for drier skin.

            2. Concealer

This is probably a crucial step for a lot of you. Staying up all night from studying but most likely from surfing the Internet without a notice at the time. If your only concern is under eye circles then go one shade lighter than your actual skintone to brighten it up. If you also have acne concerns, then I would recommend getting a concealer the same shade as your skintone to cover it up. The difference between using a BB Cream and a concealer is, that concealer have more pigmentation and are generally more opaque. This means they can cover up things that a BB Cream can’t. Good drugstore suggestions are: L’Oreal True Match concealer, Maybelline FIT Me Concealer, Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer.

             3. Powder

I like to set my concealer so it doesn’t move and look all shiny. I lightly set the rest of my face using a powder foundation to give a little extra coverage and also to mattify my oily face. If you have dry skin, you can just set your undereye and any place you might have used concealer like for blemishes.

            4. Blush

I think blush is essential. It wakes up the face, and gives it that “I’m alive, I promise” look in the morning. For budget options, I recommend the Wet n Wild Color Icon blushes. They are amazing especially for the price. If you’re hesitant about blush, then try the Rimmel London blushes. They are not as pigmented which is great for fair skinned girls and those who want to work their way up.

            5. Mascara

This is probably one of the first makeup products most of us have tried, and probably have never left it since. I recommend using an eyelash curler because they help lift the eyes and allow your eyes to look wide awake . Revlon makes a good one. However, if you have really curled eyelashes, or are afraid of eyelash curlers, feel free to skip this step. Some great mascara options from the drugstore: Maybelline the Falsies Flared, L’oreal Voluminous mascara, Covergirl Clump Crusher.

The complete look, I want to add that I used brow products but opted not to put it because many don’t traditionally use brow products.

I hope this helped some of you look awake, even if you’re not! Next week I will be getting into brushes, and what are some great options for when you’re starting out. Until next time, take care!
