Beauty Blog: Spring nail polish picks
In this week’s Beauty Blog, Somayea talks about her favorite spring nail polish picks.
For this week’s post, I decided to do something a little bit different and talk about something related to beauty but not makeup. I’ll be showing you some of my favorite spring nail polishes, which I bought from Glitterbels.
Although it is not officially spring, nor does it feel like it, I would still like to show you my picks for when it does come around. In the mean time, feel free to wear these shades to brighten up a cold and sad day.
First, here is my favorite pick.
It’s Revlon Parfumerie in the shade Moonlit Woods. This is a gorgeous, almost metallic iridescent purple with some softer blue into the mix. It looks as gorgeous on the nails as it does in the bottle. It has a scent that you can smell after letting it set onto your nails for a minute or two. I’d describe it as a soft fresh scent, like fresh laundry but with a hint of something sweet in the mix. It gets bonus points for looking like a traditional parfum bottle.
This one follows the purple range, but it is just a creme finish, so it has no sparkle if you like to keep your nails simple. This is the NYX Advanced Salon Formula in Lavender. It’s not a true lavender, but when are most beauty products true to the actual name? It is more of a mid-tone lavender, just a hint darker. Unfortunately, this does not have a fancy smell like the one before it, but the color is great for a simple but colorful look. The formula allows for it to go on smoothly and opaque with just one layer. The slightly wider brush allows you to get a larger surface area covered in one stroke, rather than multiple strokes.
The last one is something I know everyone would like. Why? Because it’s orange. This is Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Cloud 9, which is appropriately named. This is a gorgeous bright orange, the closest I could find similar to UT’s color scheme, with some sparkle thrown into the mix. If you want to wear your Vol Spirit loud and bright, then this is the polish for you. It has the color factor plus shimmer to give you that extra sparkle. A great thing about this shade is that you can wear it in the fall during game season too. So this polish is sure to stick with you for a while.
