Beauty Blog: Soft purple eye look

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean date night is reserved for one night of the year. Today Somayea will show you an easy, sultry look using a palette that costs only $2.99

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean date night is reserved for one night of the year. Today I’ll show you an easy, sultry look using a palette that costs only $2.99. So don’t worry about spending too much to get all fancy. (*cue Fancy song*)

Purpleplaette

Here is the palette in question. It’s the New York Color HD Color Trio Eyeshadow in Central Park Plums. I picked up this little trio at the University Common’s Walmart. It’s $2.99. My first ever eyeshadow palette came from the New York Color brand, so it has a little special place in my heart.

I’ve started out with applying an eyeshadow primer and then adding in a transition shade. I won’t go into a lot of detail with this post since my previous eyeshadow posts have gone more into detail about what certain things and terms are, so feel free to look around if you want to investigate more.

Next I applied the middle shade from the trio, which I describe it as a cool grey taupe color with some shimmer. It looks gorgeous on its own but paired with a plum, it stands out even more. I used the ELF C Brush from their Studio line which is a mere $3.

This is how it should look so far.

Next I took the third shade, a medium to deep plum and applied it to the outer corner.

Afterwards, I took a fluffly blending brush (ELF Studio Blending Brush, also $3) and blended out the color to blend it into the transition shade we put down earlier. Feel free to build up the color to meet the intensity you want.

Then I applied a black eyeliner to my lashline. Any black liner will do.

Using the same brush we used for the purple, I smudged the liner to give it a softer appearance.

I also created a small wing on the outer corner of my eye with the eyeliner and then smudged that out too. You don’t have to do that, but I can’t live without wings! I added some mascara to complete the look.

I hope you enjoyed this look and recreate it. It’s softer than last week’s look so if you didn’t enjoy that look, I think this one will suit your fancy.

I’ll see you next week!
