Looking to Saturday’s game in Oxford between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Ole Miss Rebels, there is one match-up that could play a key role in deciding the winner.

The Vols’ top receiver, Marquez North, will more than likely be matched up against the Rebels’ senior cornerback, Senquez Golson.

Golson is a standout in an already impressive Ole Miss defensive backfield.

Golson is second in the nation with five interceptions and was named on ESPN’s midseason All-America team. North leads the Vols with 25 catches, 240 yards and 4 touchdowns. With Tennessee’s offensive line continuing to struggle this year, combined with Ole Miss’s dominant front seven, the Vols need to win the match-ups on the outside.

The advantage that Golson has is that he is a ball hawk in the red zone. He has three interceptions in the end zone this year with one of those sealing the Rebels’ victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide two weeks ago.

North’s advantage is his size. Standing at 6’4″, his height gives him a seven inch advantage against the shorter Golson.

Tennessee’s quarterback Justin Worley has done a great job this season of throwing the ball up high for North in the end zone.

If Tennessee cannot win this match-up, they will have a difficult time winning this game. Ole Miss has advantages all over the field, and Tennessee will have to win every match-up they have even the smallest advantage in.
