UT Federal Credit Union robbery suspect apprehended

A federal criminal complaint was filed against a suspect who was apprehended and charged with the Aug. 27 robbery at the UT Federal Credit Union in the University Center at the University of Tennessee.

Kevin L. Brandenburg is now in police custody after being arrested at 8:36 p.m. Thursday and is awaiting a court appearance.

The robbery occurred on Aug. 27 at 11:30 a.m when a man entered the UT Federal Credit Union, placed a package on the counter, claimed that it was a bomb and demanded money. The man left with an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot. The package was later found to be a hoax device by the Knoxville Police Department bomb squad.
