Opinion: Chris Janson gives energetic performance at CMA Fest
Chris Janson performed at the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage at the annual CMA Fest in Nashville, Tenn. on June 9, 2016.
Opening with a track from his new album and closing with a re-vamped Johnny Cash classic, Chris Janson has proven once again that between his vocal range and incredible harmonica skills, true country music is still alive.
Janson performed on the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage in Nashville, Tenn. for the annual CMA Fest on June 9, 2016. While the other artists performing on that particular stage were talented, nothing could compare to the energetic stage presence Janson brought.
He performed his hit single “Buy Me a Boat,” and the crowd sang and danced to the all too familiar tune. Surprisingly, considering the size of the crowd, very few knew the lyrics to his other songs like “White Trash” and “Back In My Drinkin’ Days.”
Before performing his new single “Holdin’ Her,” Janson explained the meaning behind the song, making it clear that his family is his world. His kind heart and humble personality is no stage act.
Janson’s honest lyrics and traditional country sound prove he is not a “bro-country” artist. Janson is the artist to watch out for and is the artist country radio is missing out on.
