The Mighty Musical Monday concerts are a free lunch-time concert centered on the Wurlitzer organ at the Tennessee Theatre.
The 37th annual Apple Festival was held in the historic streets of downtown Erwin, Tenn. from Oct. 4-5. The festival ran from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on both days. The event contained over 350 booths, three performance stages and a children’s play area.
The Knoxville Chapter for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held their 11th annual Wine On The Water event on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Knoxville Convention Center to create awareness of cystic fibrosis.
The 35th Annual Greek Fest took place at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church from Sept. 26-28 and featured Greek food, music, dance, art and more.
On Saturday, Sept. 27 Market Square was alive with the sounds of salsa. The 15th annual HoLa Festival kicked off with music and dancing as the Orquesta de Jamie Bonilla played a mix of Hispanic music and the crowd learned to dance with Music City Salsa. For HoLa Festival’s first two-day event, vendors lined the square selling traditional foods, bracelets, clothing and art.

The University of Tennessee’s Pedestrian Walkway was transformed into an educational voyage around the world on Friday, Sept. 26 for the annual International Festival. Participants included various student groups along with the school’s foreign language clubs. These groups represented their countries through food, dance, music and other traditional activities. Admission was free, but the food and crafts were for sale.
A variety of student multicultural associations showcased their culture at the International Festival on Pedestrian walkway on Friday, Sept. 26.
The Visual Arts Committee hosted an art talk with photographer, Brett Warren, on Sept. 25 in the McCarty Auditorium. The lecture served as a part of the committee’s initiative to introduce unique viewpoints to the student audience.
