‘TED Talks’ to host conference at UT
The University of Tennessee will be hosting an independent “TED Talks” conference called “TEDxUTK,” made up of two sessions and a total of eight presentations at the Lindsay Young Auditorium in Hodges Library from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.
The University of Tennessee will be hosting an independent “TED Talks” conference called “TEDxUTK,” made up of two sessions and a total of eight presentations at the Lindsay Young Auditorium in Hodges Library from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.
There will be a morning session running from 10:30a.m.-12:30p.m., and an afternoon session running from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Both sessions will have four back-to-back presentations from different guest speakers.
The morning presentations will be “Fine Arts” with Joshua Bienko, “Archeology” with Erin Darby and Robert Darby, “Social Justice” with Elandria Williams, and “3D Printing” with Andrew Messing and Alex Roschli. The afternoon presentations will be “Special Needs Surfing” with Jack Viorel, “The Middle East” with Drew Paul, “3D Printing” with Lonnie Love, and “Letterpress Printmaking” with Bryan Baker and Sarah Shebaro.
While the community is invited to attend, a free livestream of the conference will be available online.
Tickets for the event cost $10, and can be purchased on TEDxUTK’s website. At least one ticket must be purchased, and those who choose to attend both sessions must purchase one ticket for both sessions.
