Preview: Knoxville November events
There is a multitude of holiday events taking place in Knoxville this month. Almost all of the events are budget friendly, and all of them are family oriented. This time of the year allows locals to spend more time with family and friends, do some holiday shopping and try seasonal treats.
Holiday related festivities are right around the corner in Knoxville. There are plenty of local events that are budget friendly and family oriented. Prepare to stay busy all month long.
Knoxville’s Holidays on Ice
Home Federal Bank will host Knoxville’s Holidays on Ice located in Market Square. Holidays on Ice will be open from Oct. 23 to Jan. 6, 2019. This event offers budget friendly admission prices as well as seasonal passes. Adult tickets are $11 per person, and children’s tickets are $8 per person. Participants get unlimited skating time with each purchase of a ticket. College students can bring their official student IDs on Thursdays for a discount. Parking in the city’s garages in Downtown Knoxville is free on the weekends and after 6 p.m. on weekdays. This outdoor rink will be set up in front of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. Regal Knoxville’s Turkey Trot and Little Gobbler Run
The Knoxville Track Club will be hosting a 5K for adults and a 1 mile race for children in Downtown Knoxville. The Little Gobble Run will be from 8-8:25 a.m. with children’s admission priced at $10. The Turkey Trot will follow immediately after and conclude at 10:30 a.m. The admission price is $30 for adults. The Mill and Mine will host activities before and after the races. A Christmas Carol Theatre Performance
The Clarence Brown Theatre is gearing up for its seasonal “A Christmas Carol” show. The performances will be on the CBT Mainstage from Nov. 29 to Dec. 22. The prices vary depending on the day and time of the show. The Clarence Brown Theatre also offers various discounts to its customers. Invite friends and family to watch how Scrooge travels along a path of redemption during the Christmas season. This play, based on the Charles Dickens’ novel, is well-known for its rotating sets at the Clarence Brown Theatre. You can buy your tickets and reserve your seats online.
Christmas Lantern Express Trains
Three Rivers Rambler will be conducting its holiday train rides located at 2560 University Commons Way. The Christmas Lantern Express trains will be running from Nov. 23 to Dec. 23. Boarding time is 20 minutes before departure time, and each train ride lasts approximately two hours. This Knoxville tradition is full of holiday spirit. The organizers will decorate the trains and make holiday treats. Three Rivers Rambler reaches out to celebrities to host story time with children aboard the trains. In addition, Santa will also make an appearance on board. Prices and tickets can be found on the Three River Rambler website.
Knoxville’s Fantasy of Trees
The East Tennessee Children’s Hospital will be hosting their 28th annual Fantasy of Trees event at the Knoxville Convention Center. The preview party will be on Nov. 20 from 7-10 p.m. for $75 per person. The main event will start on Nov. 21 and wrap up on Nov. 25. Adults can buy their tickets at $8 per person, and children between the ages of 4 and 12 are $4 per person. Guests can buy any of the 350 decorated trees. Live music entertainment will be present along with holiday mascots. Local businesses will be selling treats, holiday decorations, jewelry and more at the Village Marketplace inside the convention center.
