Preview: Valentine’s Day on Rocky Top

Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching. Luckily, there are multiple events on campus for everyone to attend regardless of relationship status.

This week leading up to Valentine’s Day is full of free events for everyone to participate in. Attendees can share the fun with their partners or friends. These events are all around the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

The UTK Print Club Valentine’s Day Sale

The UTK Print Club will be hosting this annual Valentine’s Day event. The club’s sale will be located in the Art and Architecture Building on Feb. 12 and 13. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. Additionally, attendees can purchase handmade gifts and artworks by UT students.

Sustainable Valentine’s Pop-Up

The Office of Sustainability will have a pop-up event on Feb. 13. Students can make a stop at the John C. Hodges Library between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to make a valentine from recycled materials. In addition, Nothing Bundt Cakes will give all attendees who participate a buy one, get one free coupon.

Palentine’s Day Party

The UT Pride Center is throwing a Valentine’s party for everyone regardless of relationship status on Feb. 13. Students can go alone, bring their partners or invite their friends to join the party. Furthermore, the party will be held at the Pride Center in room F-103. The center encourages attendees to bring their cheesiest pick up lines and compete in the cheesiest pick up line contest. There will also be food, candy and entertainment.

VOLentine’s Day

The Center for Student Engagement will host a Valentine’s Day celebration at 12 p.m. on Feb. 14. This event will be located in the Student Union in room 174. In addition, this event is open for everyone. Students can stop by and take part in the free food and activities.

Better Together Silent Disco

The Frieson Black Cultural Center is throwing a disco party for Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14. It is not like a regular disco party; it is a silent disco party. This free event is open to all students, and it will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the center’s multipurpose room. Attendees will get the chance to celebrate all kinds of relationships while listening to the music and eating free food. There will also be a limited number of free T-shirts that participants can get at the disco.
