Thursday’s Lady Vols basketball game will be the annual “Live Pink, Bleed Orange” breast cancer awareness game.

No. 24 Tennessee (15-10,6-6 SEC) will play host to Ole Miss (10-15, 2-10 SEC). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET and the game can be seen online on the SEC Network alternate channel.

Each fan that attends the game will receive a pink “Live Pink, Bleed Orange” t-shirt, something Tennessee has done over the past several years. The Lady Vols will be looking to turn Thompson-Boling Arena pink in support of breast cancer awareness.

Several other events and promotions will be taking place before and during the game.

The first 1,500 fans in the arena will receive a pink rally towel. The ladies of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority will be handing out pink ribbons outside of the arena, and fans can also visit the Knox Photo Booth on the concourse by section 127.

UT Medical Center will have its mobile mammogram unit outside of the main ticket office starting at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Vols will also honor breast cancer survivors and those that are fighting it currently. Head coach Holly Warlick will honor Dr. Susan Dodd with a pink basketball at the end of the first quarter. Both the Lady Vols and Rebels will wear uniforms with pink on them.

Warlick and former Lady Vol and current LSU head Coach Nikki Caldwell started the ‘Champions for a Cause’ organization and the group will be presenting a check before the game to the UT Breast Center.

“It’s something we are very passionate about and obviously we are raising awareness and it’s amazing,” said Warlick. “I think the most valuable thing I’ve gotten out of all this involvement with breast cancer is the people I’ve met and the resiliency, the fight and their attitude. It’s unbelievable.”
