For a more comprehensive breakdown of this week’s scores, check out ESPN’s fantasy football scoring leaders.

Who to add

James Jones, WR, Green Bay – To start off this week’s players to add, Jones is a repeat from last week. It is looking more and more like Jones, not Davante Adams, will be the second option for the Packers. Aaron Rodgers and Jones look like they haven’t missed a beat since they last played together.

Terrance Williams, WR, Dallas – With growing concern that Dez Bryant will miss the majority of the season, Williams should become the Cowboys new No. 1 receiver. However, with the injury to Tony Romo on Sunday night it could be a slight risk in adding Williams.

David Johnson, RB, Arizona – With the injury to Andre Ellington and his history of being prone to injuries, looking to this fellow Cardinal is a great idea. Johnson recorded 11 points when Ellington was healthy in week one and put up 16 as the cards go-to back in Ellington’s absence. There is a Johnson in the desert worth picking up and his name is not Chris.

Who to drop

Reggie Bush, RB, San Francisco – Bush was once a pretty solid second option at running back, but now that he is in San Francisco the injury bug has clearly found him. Bush injured his calf on his second carry as a 49er and has been out ever since. Putting up the old goose egg in back-to-back weeks due to injury is a good reason to drop Bush. Plus, Carlos Hyde is a pretty solid back to have from the 49ers.

Cody Latimer, WR, Denver – Despite all the hype on Latimer over the summer, the second-year wide out has done nothing for the Broncos so far in the first two weeks. He had a bad preseason and it looks as though people who hoped he would be a steal got taken for a ride.

Darren McFadden, RB, Dallas – While there was hope that a move to Dallas would finally give fantasy owners the McFadden they all hoped for when he first came into the league, it looks as though those dreams may be ending very quickly. Joseph Randle is the clear No. 1 at this point and with the injury to Bryant, Lance Dunbar is in for more passing downs due to his ability to catch the ball. McFadden will more than likely find it hard to see the field without an injury to someone. Plus, that so called ‘great’ Cowboys’ line has not looked quite as good as advertised so far.

Sit this week

DeAngelo Williams, RB, Pittsburgh – While Williams is in the top ten this week and has had a great first two weeks, he is not the go-to back anymore like he was in Carolina. Le’Veon Bell returns from suspension this week and will take back the starting job. Everyone expects big things from Bell, but the question is after how well Williams played in the first two weeks, how does that change Bell’s workload? We know Williams will get less touches with Bell back. However, with the way Williams played he should still get considerable playing time, just not as a starter. He is, however, still an option at the flex position.

Jason Witten, TE, Dallas – This is an interesting case because there are really only two marquee tight ends when it comes to fantasy football (Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham) but Witten is one of the best of the second tier players at the position. He did manage to put up five points in a defensive battle vs. Philadelphia last Sunday but suffered two sprained ankles and a sprained knee in the game. With the injury to Tony Romo you have to wonder how the Cowboys’ offense handles all the injuries that have happened through the first two weeks.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit – This one is pretty simple. While x-rays came back negative for any broken ribs and Stafford is listed as likely to play, he probably won’t be 100 percent. He did lead the Lions’ offense at Monday’s walkthrough. However, with a rib injury and having to play an improved Broncos defense this week, it’s best to sit Stafford.

Start this week

Tom Brady, QB, New England – Brady is averaging 27.5 points per game through the first two weeks and he gets the Jacksonville defense this week. The Jaguars defense is giving up 33.4 points per game so far. This spells a third straight week of Brady as one of the highest scorers in fantasy football.

New York Jets, D/ST – The Jets defense and special teams have had a great start putting up 16 and 13 point weeks so far, which is good enough to rank them second at the position. This week they get Philadelphia and with the way the Eagles’ offense has played so far, the Jets could have a third big week in a row.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Denver – While the Broncos game last Thursday night may not have gone well early, Sanders and Peyton Manning got things going in the second half. Sanders was Manning’s go-to option on third down and in the end zone. Manning threw two touchdowns to Sanders vs. Kansas City. The Broncos head to Detroit this week. It should be a good matchup for Sanders and the Broncos offense vs. the Lions No. 18-ranked fantasy defense.
