Local bands rock the night at Fall Fest

Crab Apple Lane greeted volunteer students, families and local Knoxville patrons on stage yet again Friday Sept. 5, for the University of Tennessee’s Fall Fest.
Both members of the band are Knoxville natives and have performed at many different venues all over Knoxville. Crab Apple Lane was joined by another band native to Knoxville, Subtle Clutch, who kicked off the concert. The concert was a part of UT’s Fall Fest during Family Weekend.
Adam Rettberg, an Oak Ridge native, loved the concert. “The singers were amazing,” said Rettberg. “The drummer [from Crab Apple Lane] was really good, he was probably the best in the band. Overall they did a great job. They were definitely worth seeing!”
The event started at 5 p.m. with booths set up to inform and educate the attendees of activities the University has to offer. There were also tents set up and reserved for the families there visiting.
Joel Ragland, a Knoxville native, said, “They were fabulous, it was wonderful! I mean I didn’t know what to expect. Subtle Clutch we know, and have been following for a couple years. It was great music tonight, great energy and I feel bad that so many people missed out on great music.”
Crab Apple Lane opened for Fitz and the Tantrums last year at Volapalooza after winning a battle of the bands competition. The band will be beginning a radio tour soon and are set to release a new album in December with four brand new songs.
