No. 10 Tennessee’s pitchers were lights out vs. UNC Asheville.

The nine players to enter the game allowed only one hit in the 5-0 win Tuesday evening.

Zander Sechrist got his usual mid-week start throwing just 1.2 innings but striking out two batters in his short time. Tennessee would use eight additional arms and combined for 15 strikeouts, one hit and three walks.

Jacob Bimbi would get the credit for the win, the first of his Tennessee career.

The Vols’ offense still ran into trouble at the plate, though. The attack was held scoreless until Christian Scott launched a solo shot in the fifth inning.

However, the following inning proved to be the best outing of the night as the team raked in three runs.

Blake Burke started the frame with his tenth home run on the season and the second solo home run of the game. Zane Denton and Jared Dickey would round the bases, as well, before the end of the sixth.

Next, Tennessee will travel to Baton Rouge to play No. 1 LSU. The weekend series gets underway on  Thursday and airs on ESPNU.
