For Cheryl Smith, an audience member at the performance this concert was especially nostalgic.

“It reminds me of the music I heard growing up,” said Smith. “y]You just don’t hear music like this anymore.”

Smith was not the only audience member pleased with the experience, Jennifer Mitchell may not have grown up listening to jazz, but says that she has developed a great appreciation for it.

“I love how there are so many different instruments,” said Mitchell. “They all just come together so beautifully; there’s so much depth of sound to this music. It’s almost like you’re witnessing something magical.”

Magic or no magic, one thing is for sure, both women were in awe when the jazz band took the stage.

“It’s so nice to see young people take an interest in this type of music and take the time to perfect it,” said Smith. “They did so well and I hope they keep it up.”

If you did not make it to Tuesday’s performance, you can join the jazz band on the first of December as they perform holiday music at their “Jazz for Tots” concert. The proceeds will go to the Toys for Tots campaign.
