The University of Tennessee Film Committee held its annual Zombie Walk on Wednesday. Participants arrived in Presidential Courtyard wearing their best zombie costume and applied various kinds of makeup to complete their look. After being successfully “zombiefied”, the participants walked to the University Center auditorium to watch the popular zombie movie, “Zombieland”.

The Film Committee, a division of the Central Program Council, provides students on campus with access to many popular movies, such as the recent screening of the movie “Bad Grandpa”.

Seth Shepherd, freshman at UT, is a member of the film committee. “I’m on the film committee because I have an interest in films,” Shepherd said. “I get to be a zombie for a little while, which is really a lot of fun. The people advertising the event on Pedestrian Walkway were extremely friendly, which convinced me to attend.”

Shepherd said,“I think this event is really great. I get to watch a great movie, Zombieland, with a lot of my friends that came out to have a good time.”

Shepherd, who just recently joined the committee, encourages others to consider joining. “We have an application period each fall and spring semester,” said Shepherd. “Check our Facebook and Twitter for more information about joining.”

The Committee’s twitter page also provides updates as to when and where many of the movies are screening on campus.
