Extended meal equivalency hours, more dining changes implemented this fall

This fall, students will have an extra hour to swipe their Vol cards for meal equivalency at campus dining halls and POD Markets after Student Government Association representatives successfully lobbied to have the previous meal equivalency time of 5-8 p.m. extended to 4:30-8:30 p.m.
Additionally, an extra meal equivalency time slot has been added to provide a late night option for students. Meal swipes will be accepted at the new 24-hour POD Market in Hodges Library from 4:30 p.m.-1 a.m.
Other changes being implemented this semester include an increased meal equivalency rate for breakfast from $4.05 to $4.35, an increased lunch and dinner rate from $4.55 to $4.85 and Scantrons will now be sold in every POD Market on campus.
SGA representatives said they are planning to lobby for more dining changes, including the creation of a meal equivalency option on Saturdays, extending hours of operation at the Presidential Courtyard Building dining hall on Saturdays, establishing rollover dining and exploring options of using Dining Dollars on Cumberland Avenue.
