UT FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARRESTED
Tennessee football players A.J. Johnson and Danny O’Brien were arrested on alcohol-related charges after police broke up a party Johnson was co-hosting at the apartment of former Tennessee linebacker Dontavis Sapp early Sunday morning, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. SUSPECTED FT. SANDERS SHOOTER IN CUSTODY
Brandon Middlebrook, the man suspected of shooting and injuring two people in Fort Sanders last week, has been taken into Knox County Intake Center. Middlebrook was being treated for injuries of his own at UT Medical Center since the incident. Get all the details of the shooting here.
RECYCLEMANIA SERVICE PROJECT SIGN-UPS
Student organizations that want to participate in UT’s 9th annual RecycleMania competition can register for service projects beginning Feb. 10. UT will compete against universities across the country in RecycleMania, a competition that aims to reduce waste.
FINAL WELCOME LEADER INTEREST MEETING
Students who would like to greet incoming freshmen next fall as a Welcome Leader should plan to attend the last WL interest meeting on Feb. 10 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Scripps Convergence Lab on the fourth floor of the Communications Building. WLs will facilitate group discussion with new students, take them on short campus tours to find their classes and attend Welcome Week events.
HOT CHOCOLATE LOVERS 5K EVENT
Come out to Victor Ashe Park on Feb. 15 and enjoy a brisk run and some hot chocolate at the Hot Chocolate Lovers 5K. Beginning at 10 a.m., the run will raise money for the Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training efforts.
