Picture Wellness offers diabetes prevention sessions to UT campus
The ParTNers 4 Health initiative, lead by Picture Wellness, presents free informational session on diabetes prevention Oct. 8 and 9.
Picture Wellness, Tennessee pilot stage representative for the state initiative health drive ParTNers 4 Health, is offering 30 minute informational sessions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sessions will be held in the University Center Room 220. The focus of the sessions is losing weight and keeping it off.
The pilot program will be led by Maurice Saliba, founder of Picture Wellness. “If you’re struggling with your weight, if you want to lose that weight and potentially lower your chance of diabetes, this is your chance” said Saliba.
The informational sessions, which are CDC approved, offer the chance to change the way individuals and families eat and live their lives. Diabetes remains a prominent health concern with 33.3 percent of the nation considered “Pre-Diabetic”. The sessions are billed as “fun and easy” and attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch to the free event.
