The Fisk Jubilee Singers will be performing at the Cox Auditorium on Nov. 20. The event will be hosted by UT’s Cultural Attractions Committee.

The Fisk Jubilee Singers are a gospel choir from Fisk University, a historically black college in Nashville.

UT sophomore and Marketing Director for the Cultural Attractions Committee Mariah Reliford thinks it will be a good cultural experience for students who attend the concert.

“As the Cultural Attractions Committee, one of our missions is to bring different cultures to Knoxville,” said Reliford. “We wanted to highlight something that’s within our own culture, so we thought it would be a great part of American history to bring out. It’s not something that people get to see often.”

The Cox Auditorium is located in the Alumni Memorial Building. Tickets for the show are free for students who opted-in, $10 for UT faculty and staff and $15 for the general public and students who opted-out. Tickets are available in the Central Ticket Office in the University Center and also available online at knoxvilletickets.com.
