Students often face the difficult decision about what job they want to pursue when they begin college. Some students discover what they are good at through internships and other experiences.
Women have taken over the sport of running, as they account for over half of road race finishers in the United States, but the frequency of sexual harassment women receive mid-run is unnerving. This article features stories from UT students of their experiences of being harassed while running, as well as national data showing the likelihood of a woman being harassed and even assaulted mid-run.
“For the Kids @ UTK,” a student organization, held an event March 27-28 to raise money for patients and families at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, raising a yearly total of over $43,000.
Polar Plunge was held at UT’s TREC, where students and athletes dove into the TREC’s outside pool in cold temperatures to raise money for the Special Olympics of East Tennessee. The event raised over $10,000 and UT plans to make this an annual event.
