The University of Tennessee’s Sex Week is back this year after receiving a positive reception from students. More than 4,000 attendees came to Sex Week last year.

UT Sex Week has released its 2014 schedule with events kicking off on March 2 with the “My Milkshake Brings all the Boys to the Yard: Aphrodisiac Cooking Class” at the International House.

Other events leading up to Sex Week include a performance of “Rent” by UT students from Jan. 30-Feb. 2 at the Lab Theater on UT’s campus.

Sex Week is sponsored by SEAT (Sexual Empowerment and Awareness at Tennessee). The group strives to foster a comprehensive and academically-informed conversation about sex, sexuality and relationships with the purpose of educating the University of Tennessee student body and the Knoxville community through innovative, collaborative and entertaining programming and events.

The first Sex Week at UT faced some controversy when weeks before the first event they lost two-thirds of their funding. State Legislators influenced UT administrators and they made the decision to pull the funding. However, SEAT managed to raise all their funding back after 36 hours of private fundraising with the public.

UT is one of the first ten universities to host a sex week in the country. With additional funding, UT Sex Week will press on for its 2nd year. A list of all events can be found by clicking here.
