Alvin Kamara was an important factor in Tennessee’s win over North Texas.

In a game that was much closer than anticipated, Vols running back Alvin Kamara helped lead Tennessee to a 24-0 victory over North Texas.

Throughout the season, Kamara has had to split carries with quarterback Joshua Dobbs and starting running back Jalen Hurd. However, his impact as a runner and receiver has been substantial.

Kamara finished Saturday’s game with 15 carries, 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It was his first 100-yard rushing performance since he ran for 144 yards on Bowling Green in the first game of the season.

On the season, Kamara has rushed for 503 yards while averaging a staggering 6.9 yards per carry. He has proven to be a dynamic weapon, scoring ten touchdowns this season three different ways (six rushing, three receiving, one punt return). In fact, Kamara has scored ten touchdowns despite touching the ball only 105 times this season.

Needless to say, Kamara was the leader for the Vols on Saturday in a game that was much closer than expected. If the Vols want to continue their success, Kamara’s inclusion in the offense should remain high.
