In this week’s Triple Play, Danielle Whaley, Sam Forman and Dalton Light recap National Signing Day and discuss UT men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball.
With men’s and women’s basketball going on, as well as baseball and softball, it is a busy time for sports. Here is a guide to this week in Tennessee athletics.
Tennessee’s men’s basketball team (13-9, 5-5) traveled to Athens, Georgia, Saturday to take on the Georgia Bulldogs (15-7, 6-4). The Vols left with their fourth SEC loss in the past five games.
A career-high scoring effort from Josh Richardson could not save Tennessee from the hands of defeat.
Tennessee returned home Saturday to take on the Auburn Tigers and ex-Vols coach Bruce Pearl. The Vols were looking to avoid a 3-game skid and they were able to slide past the Tigers 71-63.
Bruce Pearl will return to Thompson-Boling Arena Saturday for the first time since he was fired by Tennessee in March 2011 due to NCAA recruiting violations. Pearl’s new team, the Auburn Tigers will take on Donnie Tyndall and the Vols.
