With nearly 30,000 people in attendance last year, the Knoxville Asian Festival looks to continue a promotion of culture and goodwill around the community. The annual festival continues Sunday, Aug. 26 from 11 a.m.  to 6 p.m. in Market Square.

Events kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade. Other features include performances by the Japanese Drum group Taiko from Walt Disney World’s Epcot, professional Chinese musicians from Middle Tennessee State University, a Bonsai exhibition and more. Food vendors from across Asia and children’s events will also be featured throughout the day.

Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero will welcome a delegation from Muroran, Japan, Knoxville’s sister city, at noon. Mayor Rogero previously visited Muroran in 2017.
