Update: KPD identifies Fort Sanders shooting suspect
The Knoxville Police Department have identified a 25-year-old man in connection to a shooting in Fort Sanders that injured three people.
Brandon Middlebrook is accused of shooting two people inside an apartment at Highland Terrace Apartments near 13th Street and Highland Avenue around 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Middlebrook was also injured during the incident and is currently being treated at UT Medical Center along with the other victims.
One of the victims was identified at a UT student, and all three are expected to survive their injuries.
With a search warrant, KPD officers found 2 ounces of marijuana, digital scales, multiple plastic baggies as well as three boxes of ammo and a loaded magazine for a handgun. A handgun believed to have been used in the shooting was also discovered in the parking lot during the investigation.
Middlebrook will be charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one charge of aggravated robbery, and a charge of possessing a firearm in the commission of the felony. His bond was set at $1,015,000.
Police say they are still investigating the shooting and more charges could be filed later. KPD urges anyone with information to contact them at 865-215-7212.

Knoxville Police are looking for a male in question for a shooting that took place in Fort Sanders on Tuesday evening. Rural/Metro said that three victims have been transported to UT Medical Center.
University of Tennessee students were alerted of the incident and were told a person with a firearm had been reported at 13th Street and Highland Avenue. UT officials urge all students to find a safe place.
According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, police found two gunshot victims, one male and one female, in an upper floor apartment. Both victims appeared conscious when they were transported from the scene by ambulances.
The assailant has been described as a black male, accompanied by three black males, all wearing dark hooded sweatshirts.
UT Police said that all three victims are expected to survive.
