Titans vs Broncos Preview
The Tennessee Titans face the Denver Broncos (10-2) Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado at 4:05 EST. The Titans are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive, after suffering a loss to the Indianapolis Colts last week.
In order for the Titans to win, they are going to have to run the ball effectively to keep Peyton Manning and the Broncos high powered offense off the field. Denver’s offense is ranked first in the NFL at a staggering 38.5 points per game. The Titans must also focus on taking care of the football. Last week against the Colts they turned the ball over four times.
Although the Titans are underdogs in this game do not make the mistake of counting them out. Recently, a lot has been made about Peyton Manning’s struggles in cold weather. In his career, Manning’s record is 3-7 when the temperature is 32 degrees or colder. If the Titans are able to take away Denver’s short passing game, they have a good chance at slowing down the Bronco’s high-powered offense.
Also, the Denver Broncos defense is ranked 26th in points allowed, and they are ranked 29th in passing defense. The Titans need to take advantage of the Broncos secondary, by taking deep throws down field. The Broncos secondary is an obvious weakness that Tennessee needs to take advantage of in order to score enough points. Fitzpatrick will need to have a short memory, and put last week’s performance behind him.
