Tennessee Tech Vs. Tennessee Vols Preview

Saturday, December 7, 2013, the Vols men’s basketball team will be playing Tennessee Tech in the Boiling Arena.

Saturday’s game against Tennessee Tech marks the second of five games Tennessee will play against in-state teams this season. The  Tennessee Vols have already beat Tennessee Tech and already have a three games in row won over in-state opposition.

The Tennessee Vols lead in the SEC and rank 10th nationally in rebounding defense. The Vols also rank second in the league and tied for eight nationally in offensive rebounding.

The probable starters for the Vols will most likely be Antonio Barton, Jordan McRae, Josh Richardson, Jeronne Maymon, and Jarnell Stokes. For the opposing team, Tennessee Tech, the probable starters will most likely be Jeremia Samarrippas, Ty Allen, Javon McKay, Dennis Ogba, and Dwan Caldwell.

If the Tennessee Vols win this would give them a four-game home win streak and a four-game win streak versus in-state teams. The win will make the Vols 2-0 this season versus in state opponents. The win against Tennessee Tech would also give the Vols a 51-2 all-time record against current members of the Ohio Valley Conference, as result giving Cuozo Martin a 4-1 head coaching record against current members of the Ohio Valley Conference.

By the statistics there is a great chance that the Vols will defeat Tennessee Tech. There is also a great chance that the game will be a blowout. Tennessee Tech might not stand a chance against the Tennessee Vols.
