Staff profiles: Brandon Rupert

Brandon Rupert was born in Ann Arbor, Mich. on February 5, 1986. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in Tecumseh, Mich. in 2004. He then attended Washtenaw Community College and received an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. After attending community college he worked for Balance Consulting, LLC, also in Ann Arbor, Mich. as a software salesman and consultant. In 2008 he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Operation Enduring Freedom. He was Honorably Discharged in 2012. He now attends the University of Tennessee and is pursuing a degree in journalism.

Brandon is married to Ridley Rupert and has one son, Leyland David Rupert, who was born September 11, 2012 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Amidst his ongoing work and education he has been on two separate medical mission trips to Mexico where he worked as a translator for the medical staff and patients. He is an avid golfer and baseball fan. His son is named after the current manager of the Detroit Tigers, Jim Leyland. Previously he has worked as a sous chef, bartender, baseball umpire, assembly line worker, sales consultant, computer network administrator among other things. He has lived in Michigan, California, South Carolina, Hawaii and now in Tennessee. His travels have taken him from Afghanistan to the Phillipines, and also include 15 Major League Baseball stadiums across the country.
