The Grizzlies Defeat the Magic
Tuesday, December 9,2013 at 8pm the Memphis Grizzlies played the Orlando Magic at the FedEx Forum.
It was a close game but the Magic was not magical enough to defeat the Grizzlies. The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Orlando Magic at home by nine points with the score being 94 to Orlando’s 85.
The score was close until the 2nd quarter. The Grizzlies took a significant lead by 14 points and from there they continued to lead by more than 20 points. The Magic began to catch up during the 4th quarter but the Grizzlies managed to keep the lead until the end of the game.
The starters for the game were Zach Randolph, Tayshaun Prince, Kosta Koufos, Mike Conley, and Jerryd Bayless for the Memphis Grizzlies. For the Orlando Magic the starters were Glen Davis, Andrew Nicholson, Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo, and Victor Oladipo.
The top performers for tonight’s game were Andrew Nicholson and Zach Randolph. Andrew Nicholson scored 19 points. Nicholson also had 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Zach Randolph scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds and 2 assists. Jon Leuer also assisted in the Grizzlies win by scoring 16 points and a career-best 12 boards.
The Grizzlies were missing four key players. Marc Gasol is out for a knee injury. Ed Davis is out for an ankle injury and Tony Allen is out for a hip injury. Quincy Pondexter also missed today’s game for a right foot stress fracture and is said to be out for a significant time.
Despite these setbacks the Grizzlies lived up to their motto “We Don’t Bluff”.
