Tennessee Basketball lands another five-star commit
Brandon-Huntley Hatfield committed to Tennessee, adding another high-end recruit to the Volunteers’ froncourt.
Tennessee basketball has gotten another five-star commit for the 2021 class in Brandon Huntley-Hatfield.
Huntley-Hatfield, a 6-foot-9 220-pound power forward, has recently announced he will commit to the University of Tennessee and reclassify into the class of 2021. He was originally in the class of 2022 but said that reclassifying was the best option for him to get ahead in college and start his college career sooner. This reclassification gave him the No. 19 overall player in the class of 2021.
As a Tennessee native from Clarksville, TN., the University of Tennessee pursued the power forward heavily. A huge part of his decision to come to Rocky Top was because of Coach Rick Barnes. In an interview with ESPN, he said he felt that Barnes could really help develop his basketball skills and turn him into a great player. Huntley-Hatfield attended Scotland Campus Prep in Pennsylvania.
Huntley-Hatfield joins an already stacked 2021 freshman class including five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler, two four-stars in Jonas Aidoo and Jahmal Mashack and three-star Quentin Diboundje. These players should help Tennessee with the loss of Keon Johnson, Jaden Springer and Yves Pons to the NBA Draft.
