The UT Farmer’s Market offers a variety of locally grown food for students and the public alike. Held every Wednesday evening from four to seven at the UT Gardens, the market boasts an array of color and flavor.
The market has been around for seven years, but manager Beth Aisenbrey says much of the student traffic comes from those who regularly have classes on the AG campus.

Aisenbrey wants to see more main campus students at the market in the future. She added that the Neyland Express bus stop is right at the edge of the market.
The market contains food trucks, give-aways, produce, baked goods, homemade soaps and more all from local vendors. Also present are campus organizations, such as “Get Fruved” which helps students learn about healthy lifestyles and food options.
Seniors Michaela Mikos and Nicole Gulley are both animal science majors who have attended the market in previous years. “I used to come regularly last year,” says Mikos.
Gulley says she wishes the market was bigger but also states that, “the location is perfect.” Located on the field right outside of the UT Gardens, there is no shortage of sunshine and fresh air.
There are also local, live musicians present, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. Aisenbrey says she would love for more students to come out and enjoy being outside.
“I love this market and there’s a lot of stuff going on on campus but I think this is one of the best because you have local musicians, you have yoga, tons of food and I think it’s a beautiful place to come and be outside, get a break from classes. And also to fall in love with Knoxville.”
Every week at 5:45 in the evening, there is a free yoga session in the gardens to help stressed students unwind.
