Opinion: Stock & Barrel cooks up the best burger in Knoxville
If you haven’t been to the Stock & Barrel in Market Square yet, I highly recommend that you give it a try. This year, Metro Pulse named them best new restaurant, best french fries and best hamburger in their The Best of Knoxville 2014 awards.

I had to see what all of the fuss is about so, I headed to Market Square which is conveniently located only few miles away from campus.
When you look at the menu it’s obvious that this is no ordinary burger joint. Their burgers are unique and made with meat, cheese and veggies from local farmers.
I had the buffalo burger and I upgraded my French fries to the duck confit fries. The buffalo burger had a mouth watering combination of bleu cheese fondue, buffalo sauce and celery. It is the perfect mix between hot wings and a hamburger. The duck confit fries, which are cooked in duck fat and topped with parmesan and sea salt, were definitely the best fries I have ever had. They were so delicious that I ate the entire bucket– yes, bucket.
I was beyond full after my meal, but when I saw the words “deep fried apple pie” I couldn’t resist, and I’m glad I didn’t. This dessert was absolutely perfect. It was the perfect level of sweet and the vanilla ice cream was “eat a whole gallon” delicious. I left not wanting to ever look at food again, but have since changed my mind; I will definitely be going back more often. If you’re a burger connoisseur, you will not be disappointed by the Stock & Barrel.
