TNJN Kitchen: Don’t stress for finals chocolate brownies

Don’t stress for finals. Instead, make these stress-free brownies with dark chocolate to help give your brain that extra boost it needs.

With finals right around the corner, stress eating will be at an all-time high. Try this brownie recipe for your chocolate fix along with an energy boost! Add nuts and dark chocolate for a healthier snack with added benefits.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 C dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 C chopped almonds
  • 10 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/4 C sugar
  • 3/4 C cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 C all purpose flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
  2. Grease an 8 in. square baking pan
  3. Melt butter in a mixing bowl
  4. Add cocoa, sugar and salt to the melted butter and stir until smooth
  5. Stir in vanilla and eggs
  6. Mix until smooth
  7. Gradually add flour and mix until smooth
  8. Add in nuts and dark chocolate chips
  9. Bake 20-25 minutes
  10. Cool completely before serving
