Creating lifelong family memories for 28 years, Boo at the Zoo is being held through Oct. 9-12, 16-19 and 23-26 from 5:30p.m.-8 p.m. at the Knoxville Zoo. Presented by U.S. Cellular, this fun and festive event includes the famous Scary-Go-Round, the only haunted carousel in East Tennessee, along with music and games at the Monster Mash Tent for children of all ages to enjoy. As an added bonus, Boo at the Zoo also includes costumed characters who walk around the zoo, creating a Halloween ambiance. With tickets costing $7 per person over the age of 2 and Zoo members receiving a $2 discount, this is an event that the whole family won’t want to miss out on.

If you’re looking for more traditional activities to partake in this fall, look no further than the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch at Oaks Farms. Oaks Farms provides 28 outdoor farm-style activities for the whole family in their “Back 40 Activities”, including pedal karts and the pumpkin pounder. Down the way from the activities area are both the pumpkin patch and the professionally designed corn maze. The pumpkin patch includes a hayride to the patch, where you can pick your own special pumpkin for just $5 per person. The corn maze, on the other hand, is designed as two separate mazes, where the goal is to find the 12 diverse posts hidden within. For just $10.95 for adults 11 and up, and $8.95 for children ages 3 to 10, one can experience admission to the corn maze, “Back 40 activities”and a hayride. Additionally, the corn maze turns into the Trail of Doom, a spooky alternative to the traditional corn maze, through Oct. 3,4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25 and 30-31. Admissions to the Trail of Doom is $19.95 plus tax.
