Tennessee rolls past The Citadel 86-60

The Tennessee Vols Men’s basketball team took the court against The Citadel Monday night looking to stay undefeated on their home floor. From the opening tip, the Volunteers dominated in every area of the game and played their first game where they looked like a team that could break the top 25, coasting to an 86-60 victory.

Senior guard Antonio Barton continued to impress as he scored 10 quick points and finished with 13 while shooting 5-7 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc. Senior star forward Jordan McRae again showed that he was Tennessee’s go-to man by scoring 20 points and recording three blocks and three assists. Freshman guard Robert Hubbs also scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds in the best performance of his young collegiate career, giving Vols fans great hope for the future.

The Vols showed Monday night that they were not one-dimensional. The team got good looks and shot 7-13 from three-point range. Tennessee also shot 53% from the field and had another good performance from the line, going 19-28.

The Tennessee Volunteers Men’s team plays again this Friday in Thompson-Boling at 7 p.m. against Tennessee State, who gave a tough Wichita State team a good game last Saturday.
