Valen Emmert is a very active girl. Whether it is in scholastic activities or sports or extracurricular activities, she is involved. At her high school here in Knoxville she was involved in Chemistry Club, an officer in Mu Alpha Theta, a class officer, and in National Honor Society. Along with these activities, she played basketball, softball, and soccer. Soccer was always her favorite, and she was a captain her senior year. She has played soccer all her life, and here at UT she still participates in a Knoxville Metro League of soccer and intramurals.

Intramural soccer is not the only sport she is involved in here at UT though. She also plays intramural flag football, and basketball, and other tournaments. She enjoys cheering on the Vols for basketball, football, along with enjoying other less popular sports such as fencing and soccer. Also, Valen has gotten involved with the student organizations of RUF and the newly created Media Works and Ed2010.
