Rayshawn Lanier is a fourth year student in Journalism and Electronic Media major in the sports track.  He was brought up with Midwestern values in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He has been a fan of all sports most of his life.  The one he enjoys most are football, baseball, basketball, and even some tennis, golf, and volleyball.  Lanier had been one who always wanted to play football or even baseball but never had the opportunity and now he sees this as his way of being closely associated with sports in some way.

His appreciation for sports is so great that he really doesn't have a favorite team.  Yes, being a Cincinnati native he always pulls for the home teams and also for all Tennessee programs.  Outside of that he wants to see a good game.  Close and competitive is what Lanier likes to see.

Lanier never envisioned himself working with sports.  He saw himself as a computer engineer but soon figure out that it was too boring for him.  So now he has made the transition to a major he can enjoy his entire life.

Everyday Lanier is find out how much he enjoys following not only sports but anything newsworthy.  His new experience with radio has shown him a new side to journalism.  Lanier's destinations include FOX Sports and ESPN as a broadcaster or a radio personality.  His passion for talking about sports is hard to contain.
