Rayshawn Lanier is a third year student in Journalism and Electronic Media major in the sports track.  He was brought up with Midwestern values in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He has been a fan of all sports most of his life.  The one he enjoys most are football, baseball, basketball, and even some tennis.  Lanier had been one who always wanted to play football or even baseball but never had the opportunity and now he sees this as his way of being closely associated with sports in some way.  He enjoys playing basketball and football in his spare time.  Being that he is from Cincinnati, he always roots for the Reds and the Bengals, but some of his other favorite teams are San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Baltimore Ravens, Philadephia Eagles, LSU Tigers football team, and yes the Tennessee Volunteers almost all programs.

Lanier never envisioned himself working with sports.  He saw himself as a computer engineer but soon figure out that it was too boring for him.  So now he has made the transition to a major he can enjoy his entire life.

Being new to the major Lanier is looking to dive in be active with sports journalism.   He hope to someday work as a commentator or a sports anchor.  ESPN or FOX Sports are two of his destinations.
