Mustapha Moussa starts his sophomore year at the University of Tennessee this Fall. He was born in Sierra Leone (West Africa). He moved to Knoxville at age 16, and is a graduate of West High School. Mustapha's love for journalism comes from his desire and passion to uncover misdeeds and report the truth.
After starting out as an Engineering major, he decided to change his major to journalism. Mustapha is pursuing a bachelors’ degree in Journalism and Electronic Media and a minor in Geography, he feels Geography will be a great complement to his journalism major. Being multi-lingual and multi-cultural gives Mustapha an advantage in his field.
Mustapha is excited as to what the future holds for him. He plans to graduate Spring 2013 and attend graduate school. His ultimate goal, is to work in broadcasting where he can take his life experiences from traveling the world, and be an exceptional contributor in the field of broadcast media.
In addition to being a staff writer with The Tennessee Journalist, Mustapha is also a staff writer and photographer for the Daily Beacon. When he is not busy with school; you can find him chasing his three little children ages six, four and three. He is also a full time professional photographer, and was voted as a Top 7 photographer in the Knoxville's WTNZ Fox 43 HOT LIST, last year.
