Hello hello! My name is Megan and I'm a sophomore in Journalism and Electronic Media.
I grew up in the in the land of Farragut -- which is 20 minutes west from UT (if you take I-40). I lived in the same one-story house and attended the same school system for 18 years. I entered kindergarten at Farragut Primary School in 1995 and graduated from Farragut High School in 2008.
My interest in Journalism developed once upon a time in my high school newspaper class. The Anchor was distributed during lunch once a month. For me, as a beginning news writer, The Anchor was the most exposure a student could receive. I wrote Op/Ed articles concerning high school crazes and trends. Eventually, during my senior year, I went on to become Farragut's Business Manager, which allowed me to develop a full understanding of advertising and everything it entails.
After high school, I enrolled in The University of Tennessee. My goal is to graduate from UT with a Bachelor's in Communications; I hope to move to Denver and eventually work with National Geographic as a journalistic filmmaker. I believe it is my duty, as a journalist, to inform and inspire people through my work.
