Kelly Hunt earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Tennessee and is currently completing a master's degree in international journalism. She spent four years as a Army photojournalist and public affairs specialist, including nine months reporting in Afghanistan, writing for The Freedom Watch and exploring the Middle East's culture and its efforts at becoming a democracy, as a member of the 4th Public Affairs Office. After Operation Enduring Freedom, Kelly returned to her original duty station, Fort Hood, Texas, as editor for The Fort Hood Sentinel.
Kelly is originally from Ohio and came to Tennessee after completing her military tour. She is determined to explore as much of the world as possible and help the local and international community by raising awareness through her writings and photos illustrating the beauty, and sometimes the atrocities, of the world and its people.
Her latest adventure took her to London, Wales, Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland where she focused on photography, international relations and international communication.
In addition to her work on the Tennessee Journalist, she is the former editor for the UT School of Journalism and Electronic Media's Web site and a contributer to Publish2 and Newsvine.
Kelly also hosts an international topics blog, which is in it's beginning stages. It addresses a variety of issues ranging from international news and organizations to study abroad experiences, providing a look into the world around us through interviews with international leaders, students and professors, as well as her experiences during travels abroad.
View many of Kelly's articles from her time at Fort Hood, Afghanistan and UT at Publish2 or Kelly's Place on the Web, an interesting blast to the past where you can experience her first attempts at HTML coding.
