Kacey Duren is a junior majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media with a concentration in media management. Kacey is currently a copy editor for the Tennessee Journalist. She also writes for the UT Daily Beacon, where she began her involvement at the University of Tennessee during the summer of 2009 as a staff writer and copy editor.
Kacey graduated third in her class from Washburn High School in 2007. Her small hometown of Washburn, Tennessee is located northeast of Knoxville, in Grainger County. Kacey was vice-president of her senior class, voted "most likely to succeed" by her classmates, and was the 2007 Calendar Girl for Grainger County. She was also a member of the yearbook staff, and Future Business Leaders of America, where she served as the clubs state reporter from 2005-2006.
In her spare time, Kacey enjoys doing some photography, playing with her two dogs, kayaking, and painting. After graduation, she hopes to teach secondary education.
