Jonquil Newland was born in Grand Rapids Michigan. She moved to Tennessee in 1994. She is currently a jounalism student at the University of Tennessee.
While at UT Jonquil has performed with the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, the Wind Ensemble, and has done work with the UT Channel and WUTK as a reporter and an anchor. Jonquil is a now a reporter for UT Today, the university's broadcasting station. She has also interned with WBIR and plans on becoming a reporter once she graduates.
