Austin Baird is currently a freshman at UT, majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media with tracks in Sports, News and Magazine.
A native of metro Atlanta, specifically Marietta, he is an avid fan of the Braves, Hawks and Falcons. He is also a life long fan of Tennessee sports.
In his first semester at UT, he began reporting for the sports section of the Tennessee Journalist.
After nearly five months in the sports section, he worked to create the Politics section and has since focused the majority of his time as the section editor covering political news.
When he is done with college, he hopes to work covering sports in a top five market for a major sports magazine, or with any other company that would allow in-depth feature writing.
If he chooses a career in politics, he would prefer to work with a major organization covering international politics, with an equal amount of time spent in the United States and abroad.
