Holly Buchanan

Holly Buchanan is a Senior majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media. She has received several scholarships from UT including the prestigious faculty chosen scholarship.

Holly has anchored Sports Mecca on the Tennessee Volunteer Channel and has worked as an intern for WBIR in Knoxville, TN and WMC-TV in Memphis, TN. She has written and reported numerous stories for each of these local stations.

She is very involved on campus and is a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Mortar Board, Phi Eta Sigma President, Dance Marathon Executive committee among other organizations. Holly competed in  the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant and received an award for being Miss America's outstanding scholar.

Holly has accepted a position with Teach For America in Charlotte, North Carolina after graduating in May 2008. She will teach elementary students in the inner city to help end educational inequality. She will also be working on her Master's Degree from the University of North Carolina.
