Erica Hartsfield began as a freshman at the University of Tennessee- Knoxville in fall 2009.  She is currently pursuing a degree in journalism and electronic media and plans to minor in English.

Recently, Erica became a writer for TNJN.com to prepare for her future career as an editorial columnist. She believes that writing for TNJN will allow her to expand on one of her many passions.  She hopes to one day become a world renowned journalist.

During her senior year at Wooddale High School in Memphis, Erica was a member of her school yearbook staff.  As a part of her duties, she was frequently required to conduct interviews, photograph the everyday occurrences at her school, and experiment with creating innovative web pages.  This allowed her to put her writing and creativity skills to the test, having to discover new and inventive ways to bring vitality to everyday life.

When Erica is not working on improving her skills as a writer, she enjoys listening to music as much as possible, talking on the phone, and bowling.
