Eric Gedenk

Eric Gedenk is a senior double-majoring in journalism and German at the University of Tennessee. He has worked as a reporter and science and technology editor for the Tennessee Journalist, co-editor for the Knoxville-based Hellbender Press, and is currently a writing intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's National Center of Computational Sciences. 

Though he was born in Chicago, Illinois, Eric has called Knoxville home for the last 13 years. 

In January of 2008, he accompanied three other UT students in attending a foreign correspondents' training course sponsored by TOL Magazine in Prague, Czech Republic. He receieved hands on training from professional freelance journalists working for BBC, The Economist, The Christian Science Monitor, and the Associated Press.

Eric loves traveling and playing bass in a local progressive rock band. His hope his to be a science writer or a foreign correspondent in Germany one day.
