Amanda Wills

Born in Knoxville, Amanda Wills graduated in December 2008 with degrees in journalism and Spanish.  In the summer of 2006, she lived in Malaga, Spain where she studied language and culture at the Universidad de Malaga .  Amanda has a passion for foreign relations and thrives on the prospect of her next journey.  While at UT, Amanda served as the editor-in-chief for TNJN, volunteered for UT Programs Abroad and advocated for humanitarian aid in sub-Sahara Africa.

In the fall of 2007, Amanda lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she studied magazine journalism and Latin American journalism at the Universidad del Salvador .  In February 2008, she was awarded the Alex Haley/Playboy Interview scholarship for 2008.  Amanda was also awarded a first place Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Region 12 award for her story, "Organization strives to aid crisis in Darfur ."

Amanda is now the Assistant Editor for Earth911, an environmental news Web site in Phoenix, Ariz.
